This Corvette ZR1 isn’t the first which will use this name. In the 90s the ZR1 had a renowned reputation

The original ZR1 ended its production ended in 1995 and only produced 6939 vehicles.
The inspiration for the ZR1 was to have a small and fast moving vehicle which used a newly developed, 4 cam and 4-valve cylinder V-8 engine. The 250 pound lighter leaf spring suspension was to become even more refined on the ZR1.

There is a clear coated carbon fiber on the underside of the hood which does not contain a insulator pad. This hood sits just over the engine with no clearance.
The Corvette ZR1 contains a Carbon fiber spoiler and chin which protrudes four inches to help reduce air lift. This directs the air towards fins that connected by arm mounts. These fins aim the air towards the brake area.
The Corvette ZR1 boasts a full width rear spoiler, which works with a front splitter to balance the lift. This is done to aid the handling behavior at higher speeds.
It is almost definite that the newer Corvette ZR1 will surpass the older ZR1 performance rating.
